The organization calls the plan to shoot in Italy a 'denigration' of Italian Americans while the cast member is hoping the locals would receive them with open arms.
MTV is planning to take Snooki and the gang to Italy and already protests are coming their way. An unhappy Italian-American organization calling themselves UNICO is blocking the plan for "Jersey Shore" to film the fourth season in Italy, saying it would make the locals look like "buffoons and bimbos".
"People used to go to the circus to see the freak show - that is what this will be," a representative of the org said to TMZ, adding "It will not only hurt Italians but all Americans ...their outrageous, reprehensible behavior will make us look like buffoons and bimbos."
MTV is trying to take its juggernaut show to the next level with this move. "The cast is headed to the birthplace of the culture they love and live by," MTV's Chris Linn said in a statement on Tuesday, January 25. "We can't wait to see what erupts as a result."
Locations are not divulged but all the cast members are due to arrive in the European soil this Spring for a premiere later this year.
Unfazed by the protests, the cast have expressed their excitement, calling it an amazing news. DJ Pauly D did an interview with MTV about the prospect of conquering Italy and he said about the women, "I heard they're hot. Like, real Italian women, and they might even be the type to take home to your mother. I could find The One out there...you never know."
He also thought that the gang should take the wild behavior a notch down there. "We probably should be on our best behavior only because I don't know what the laws are out there. I don't know what their jail is like. I don't want to be really hammered and act up someplace, because God forbid something goes wrong and we get locked up...We won't have anyone to call," he said.
Pauly, who has never gone to the country, added, "I hope they welcome us with open arms, and they're not like, 'Who are these guys?'. I'm proud to be a full-blooded Italian, and for me, this is kind of like a vacation where I'll be tracing my roots, so I hope they're not haters."
